Giant panda is known as a kind of endangered animals and a national treasure of China. Now giant pandas are endanger, the number of wild giant pandas become less and less.
There are some main reasons of why giant pandas become less and less. The first one is about habitat loss. Giant pandas like to eat bamboo. But bamboo dies after it flowers and new bamboo takes a long time to grow. At that time panda will have nothing to eat. Sometimes they die because of no food. The second reason is giant pandas are very selective to choose their mates, female pandas are only fertile for a few days in the spring and almost 80% giant pandas are barren. So it’s very difficult for pandas to have babies. The third reason is female pandas normally just give birth to one or two baby pandas, but only one baby can survive in the wild. Some females do not know how to take care of their babies so babies may die because of some accidents. The last reason is hunting. Because giant pandas’ fur are very beautiful, some people hunt wild giant pandas to get money.
Nowadays, for protect giant pandas and protect them from extinct, humans do a lot of things to help them. People built some nature protect areas to protect giant pandas. They help giant pandas to pregnancy by artificial fertilization. If a female panda do not know how to feed her baby, they will guide the panda to feed her baby or help her to take care of her baby. And they also keep wild pandas from hunting.
From the situation of giant pandas, we can learn that, in order to help endangered animals, we need to find the reasons why they are endanger and then try to get some ways to solve these problems.
